Ultra sensitive hi-end lightweight magnetometer for UAV. MagArrow is a fully autonomous sensor (with integrated GPS receiver, data logger and battery) and can be used with any UAV capable of carrying 1kg.

To minimize noise from drone motors and electronics, we recommend using 3m long suspension ropes to mount the MagArrow under the drone. For this a setup it is recommended to use larger drones such as DJI M600 Pro or similar, with smaller drones (DJI M300 RTK, etc.) it is recommended to use extension poles for the drone legs. An alternative way is to mount the MagArrow directly on the drone’s legs and use the low-pass filter during data post-processing to remove drone noise. This approach works quite well for surveys such as UXO research, but for work that requires recording faint or long anomalies (archaeology, geology, etc.) it is best to use suspension ropes. Recommended applications:

  • Environmental (abandoned wells, pipes and tanks)
  • Geology – survey of magnetic field variations
  • Archaeology: Detects faint anomalies from archaeological features and artifacts
  • UXO (UneXploded Ordnance) research

Features and benefits

  • Lightweight: Weighs just 1kg, allowing for a 20% longer flight time than a UAV with a 2.5kg payload.
  • UAS Agnostic: Connectable to most corporate UAS
  • Autonomous: GPS, storage and Wi-Fi on board. No data connections to the UAV are required.
  • Super Fast Sampling Rate: Fly faster, up to 10 m/s with samples every 1 cm. Filters UAV engine noise.
  • Field QC: View and control field data using any device with a web browser app interface.
  • Low Power: A single 1800mAh lithium-polymer battery will power the system for 2 hours, outlasting multiple UAV flights. The batteries are hot-swappable.
